Smofcon 21 & Wrap-Up

SmofDiego brings you a variety of networks.  Our Talking Heads Channel  provides discussions of connections in fandom and conventions.  Our DIY Channel has Workshops for digesting and applying those discussions and other lessons, or building from them.  Question Time gives you a chance to lob zingers or softballs at representatives of upcoming conventions.  The Game Show Channel provides entertainment.  And through it all, the Foodie Channel will sponsor our convention-long Restaurant Guide Design Game for big prizes!

Special Note for Bidders of future conventions:  we will be providing a series of 5 minute slots for you to present infomercials promoting your bids.  We will be assigning up to three slots per bidder, depending on demand.  Slots will be assigned by random drawing.  Remember, this is your chance to get YOUR message across without annoying questions or interruptions by those other pesky bidders!  You may also have one or more representatives at our Question Times.  PLEASE let us know if the Question Time assigned for your bid is not convenient for you -- we will try to reaccomodate.  Question Time is based on the grand British Parliamentary tradition. You are encouraged to prepare tough questions for your opponents and puffballs for your own people  -- and catch the real thing on cable or satellite to see how it's done..

Some of the Game Shows will use special and general knowledge fannish and convention-running questions.  We welcome any such questions you would like to suggest to us -- sdquestions@fopaws.com.  Luck of the draw if you're in a game and we use your question!

Many excellent program ideas have been suggested to us that do not fit our theme or our energy.  We have reserved the Prado Room all day Saturday so that you may present your own program ideas, panels, workshops, or discussion groups.  We can give time blocks from a quarter to a full hour on a first-come, first-blocked basis.  We will be assigning time slots starting Thursday evening of SmofDiego, so polish up those  ideas and bring 'em along.

There will be a Sunday Brunch for SmofDiego members at 11 AM.   Cost is $16, including beverage, taxes & tip.  Food is all-you-can-eat Mexican/Southwestern in the Acapulco Restaurant in the hotel.  We need to know if you will attend by Saturday evening at SmofDiego.

See you at SmofDiego!
